Purple Nine Times Eyeshadow Palette
The palette has the same size as a MAC quad, but contains 9 eyeshadows. So the pans of the Purple Nine Times palette are smaller than the regular full-size MAC eyeshadow pans. Since I rarely use up any eyeshadows I’m fine with these compact and small palettes (which are also great for traveling) 😉
I personally find that the pigmentation of the shades vary a lot. Shades like Sweet Lust, Bon Nuit and Shadowy Lady somehow disappointed me, since they’re quite hard pressed and weakly pigmented. Shades like Mancatcher, Satellite Dreams and After Dusk (my absolute highlight) on the other hand blew me away with their soft texture and their fantastic pigmentation
As you may know, I have green eyes, so I’m into purpled eyeshadows. But normally I don’t use them for a complete look, but mix the purple tones with more natural shades like brown or burgundy. I mostly use the palette to add a few purple, colorful highlights to my (daily) eye makeup.
That’s why I don’t see the Purple Nine Times palette as an everyday palette that works on its own … at least not for me. What I personally miss are a few more muted shades, like some sort of taupe tone … and of course I would have loved to see some better pigmented matte shades;)
